Smokey’s Restaurant and Tavern is a tale of resilience and reinvention that has left a lasting mark on the Hubbard Lake, Michigan community. In May 2018, tragedy struck when the original restaurant was consumed by flames. However, from the ashes, a phoenix arose as the establishment was reborn as a “to go” business nestled in the back of Jake’s Ice Cream Parlor. Then, Smokey’s reopened in August 2021 under ownership of Brian Sanders.

 In January 2023, this beloved establishment was given new life under the dedicated ownership of Jodie Mitchell.

As of May 2024 it is under new ownership by Anthony Jekielek, a succesful restaurarant owner, (see The Mountain Bar & Grill). He has made the look and feel of the place into a casual but stylish establishment. Come and visit us and try the the tasty entrees, delicious appetizers, great desserts and of course a full bar.
